This website contains information about and datasets from the research project: “INTERARENA – Interest Groups across Political Arenas”. The project was conducted at the Department of Political Science, Aarhus University and was financed by a Sapere Aude grant from the Danish Council for Independent Research. Anne Binderkrantz was the principal investigator of the project.

Empirical investigations were carried out in Denmark, Great Britain, the Netherlands and Spain. This webpage contains information about the project and highlights selected research results. It also includes a full overview of publications from the INTERARENA project.

Studies of the political role of interest groups rely on mapping their presence in politics. The webpage presents the INTERARENA research project which mapped interest group access to the administration, parliament and the news media across several countries. The project departed from a definition of access that emphasized the role of gatekeepers in different political arenas. The article discusses the ambitions of the research project and the subsequent choice of empirical indicators for political access. In addition, it presents the data sources used and provides an overview of the data collected.
